Who We Are
Mark and Wendy are the warm loving proprietors of the Grizzly Rose. For years we have taken pride in the care and up keep of the operations and management our family style boarding home with an innovated spirit.
The Grizzly Rose is not your average Boarding home. The warm homey atmosphere and innovative spirit set the Grizzly Rose apart - from all the others. We have over 16 years experience with the unique boarder and more than five years experience with borders having traumatic - brain injury (TBI). Through these years we have developed an innovated approach for our boarders and the home. Our home may be big in size, but we limit the numbers of boarders to nine.
This allows each and every boarder the personalized attention and support for every day. With our supportive family atmosphere we have created an independent living style without the stress of apartment life. No cooking, laundry done, limited transportation and great socialization with privacy.
Working Together for the Best
We encourage all our boarders to participate and/or join in outside activities. We also support them in taking care of as many of their own personal affairs as possible, through their own organizational skills and acting responsibly. This aids in making for a healthier person both mentally and physically.
As for our TBI boarders we also encourage active participation in our local Yates county TBI support group as well as Ontario and Monroe county TBI activities, bi yearly state conferences and workshops in Albany and Happiness House, where they provide ongoing programs to fine tune various life skills of the TBI client. We feel that stimulation of the mind goes a long way towards well -being. Of course we encourage all our boarders to take advantage of the many activities offered in our area. Such as, VFW & American Legion member's events, VA Day Treatment, Churches and their programs, Sr. Citizens Groups and many more. We also offer day trips and planned escorted vacations through out the year at cost. Everyone needs a vacation! You won't feel alone in our home. We provide a cozy family environment for which every guest is important.

After all these years our track record can speak for it self. We take pride in being up to date with VAMC procedures and policies and have an understanding rapport with outside interest groups. History shows that all our boarders make it to their appointments. With the fine mix of suppoert and activities all our guests want to stay forever.
